The world is a beautiful mix of different people, with each adding their color to brighten our experience on earth. We all have our experiences, hopes and dreams. We all our stories to share. If there is no end to something, it is to how much we can learn from one another.
It is a common experience that learning is necessary to human life, as light is to pictures. Learning is an active process of appropriation of knowledge, abilities and skills to enhance the personal or collective control potential of shaping reality in a given context or situation. It is simply the acquisition of knowledge or skills through study, experience, or being taught.
Learning from the opinion of others is perhaps one of the most important indicators of personal growth and becoming. When we are open to learning from others, we benefit from their experiences, broaden our understanding, build a support team and better positioned for personal development.
As we grow and decide that we want to lead a more fulfilling life, one of the best things we can do is to start setting a foundation for understanding that the opposite of your opinion always exists. Your opinion and the opinion of another person are viewed or mediated through different perspectives. We all see things differently based on our previous experiences. Understanding this allows us to stop taking sides and start understanding each other. We need to be the master of our mental state andwhen we understand this, it gets easier.
The dictionary definition of opinion is an interesting one. It is defined as a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. Therefore, an opinion isn't a fact, it's mainly subjective. Opinions can differ and that's what make this world interesting and unique. It's because opinions differ that makes people to keep on innovating. It is why dialogue matters. It is why tolerance works. We create a common ground for shared value regardless of individual race, culture and background.
Opinions are like human eyes. Human vision is limited. The range is not boundless. It is hard to see what’s behind you, except you turn back. It is hard to see what is above you, except you look up. It’s hard to see what’s beneath you, except you look down. Just as a shift in vision is necessary to take a more panoramic view of wherever you stand, learning from others give you a bigger and wider perspective to issues from where you stand about them. Learning from other’s opinions doesn’t necessarily mean doing away with yours. It only means that you have more than one way of looking at things.
Learning to accept other's opinion is a very important thing and learning from that opinion is even more important. It's something worth living by in our daily lives.
